The regional interfaith exchange programme inaugural run in December 2018 brought together 40 interfaith practitioners and activists from Singapore’s nine Asean neighbours, who joined their counterparts from the faith and interfaith institutions and groups in Singapore.
Madam Halimah Yacob, President of the Republic of Singapore, officially launched the Faithfully Asean and delivered the keynote address. Her Excellency Madam President joined the participants and guests for a minute observance for regional and global peace and harmony. Madam President also explored the ‘Sacred Rendezvous’ Mixed Reality experience, created by Strange Universe for Faithfully Asean, which ‘teleports’ users to various sacred religious sites across the globe.
Over the four days, delegates were involved in a variety of engagements including visits to interesting institutions and engaged in dialogues on worthy community-led initiatives and experiences relating to intercultural and interfaith cohesion.
